Airport Authority of India(AAI) is under the Ministry of Civil Aviation is responsible for upgrading, creating, maintaining and managing civil aviation infrastructure in India. It provides Air Traffic Management (ATM) services and Indian Airspace and adjoining oceanic areas. AAI manage totally 125 Airports like 11 International Airports, 8 Customs Airport, 25 Civil enclave at Military Airfields, 81 Domestic Airports.

AAI Implementing Automatic Dependence Surveillance System (ADSS) it is using indigenous technology like Chennai and Kolkatha Air Traffic Control Centers, made in India the first country to use this technology in the South East Asian region thus enabling Air Traffic Control over the oceanic areas using satellite mode of communication. AAI covers all major air routes over Indian landmass via 29 radar installation at 11 locations along with 700 VOR/DVOR installation co-located with Distance Measuring Equipment.
